Growing up...

The boys are growing up fast. They are 2 yrs old now. William is 12.5kg and Bryan is only 10.85kg.

Baby Amos is catching up fast. He is 6 months old and already 8.5kg. Y not, he had mom's breast milk all to himself not like the brothers need to share among themself.

Day 7 of life. Having NNJ.

Arrival of new member to the family!

A new live arrived this morning at 3:58am. Very fast spontaneous virginal delivery.
Tina 1st felt some irregular contraction pain at about 9pm. At 12am+ it became regular contraction and at 1am getting into regular moderate contraction... We went to the hospital at about 1:30am.

She was Os 6cm on admission and after the staff nurses complete the admission routine, she is already 8-9cm. At 3am she's already os full and ready for delivery. Baby delivered at 3:58am. There are quite significant intrapartum haemorrage due to some degree of abruptio placenta.

3.65kg! What a weight. Luckily the obs delivered the baby very fast with a good push from Tina once baby was crowning. Well done honey!

Tina has been giving the boys their hair cut all this while. When Chinese New Year approching, Tina and my mom-in-law brought the boys to the barber.

They don't like the idea of having their hair cut by the barber at all...

They cried when placed them on the chair for the haircut. Luckily the have no more complaints... They kind of like their cool GI cut after that. :)

We went to Cameron Highland after christmas 2005. Thank God they were being good boys during the long ride.

We all like the BOH plantation very much. We were there for the whole morning.

Finally, this lazy father meet up with the priest and fixed a date for William and Bryan's baptism.

The service went well today although it raining cats and dogs in the afternoon. 8 children baptised today.

Tina missed her period and now she's 9 weeks pregnant.

Brought her to hospital for my O&G colleague to ultra sound scan her for scan comfirmation. Luckily it's singleton this time :). Fetal heart present, POG of 9 weeks +.

The last time I update my boys' progress was when they were 8 months old. They are going to become 10 months old in 2 more days.

I've forgotten lots of dates of their milestone during these period of time. They can now stand without support for about 30 sec. Walk few baby steps while holding on supporting objects. Can grasp small objects with thumb and index finger.

Can call mama/papa but still calling mama most of the time (what to do ar?). Gibberish a lot, laughing a lot and also makes lots of noise when they are unhappy/demanding.

They love bathing and playing with water in the tub. Bryan is getting more stranger anxiaty then William, holding tight to Tina when there's stranger arround us. They wave bye-bye or wave hello when they feel like doing it. Not all the time following commands.

Time flies. William and Bryan are now 8 months old. They can now pull to stand on their own (William is a few weeks early then Bryan). Call 'mama' specifically but am not too sure if they meant it when they said 'papa' though.

They survived a driving trip to Melaka and and KL last month when I attend the 2nd MOTCCS Conference.

Down with URTI

Well, mayb post CNY's symptoms. Half of the family down with viral URTI (upper respiratory track infection). Started with grandad, follows by William then daddy himself. Cough, running nose etc.

It has been about 6 days for william, currently just occational cough. Lungs always clear, suckling and sucking well. No fever. I am giving him some antitussive with antihistamine funtion too alone. Beeen counting his breath rate, auscultate his lung, check his temparature regulary.

I get it very bad 2 days ago, started with running nose n throat irritation at night, follows by severe sore throat with laryngitis, coughing, myalgia, fever in the morning... Thanks to Kementerian Kesihatan's wonderful 'ubat KK', nothing but PCM, Actifed, Mist Expectorant and vit. c. I'm currently having just occational cough.

Both William and Bryan went for their healthy baby follow ups in usual KKIA (Klinik Kesihatan Ibu dan Anak) yesturday. Attracted lots of attention in the klinik... I think it's quite usual for any pair of twins. William now weight 6.5kg and Bryan 5.8kg at 3 months. That's already more then double their birth weight.

Nowadays they usually just need to wake up once at night, which is quiteok for the parents. :)

Both William and Bryan are almost 3 months old now.

They smiles a lot. Babling a lot. Holding them n watching them is very satisfactory. What a blessing.

One problem to the parents is they r smart enough to refuse bottle feed. It was Bryan 1st, he will only take small amount of formula milk when he is really hungry.. then not anymore, he'll only continue to suck if we change to breast milk. William used to taking his bottle fed happily.. but now he's also changing appetite... So Tina has been a full time breast feeding mum so far. Very tiring. Salute!

Someone asked "wht's monozygotic twin?" It's twin who develped from the same single (mono) fertilised egg (zygote). The zygote seperate itself into 2 (supposedly identical) embryos.

On Tuesday 2/11/04, Tina was electively admitted to Maternity Hospital for induction of labour. Sent to her Labour suit at about 11+ am and ARM done at 11:45am. Started to have contraction at about 12pm with epidural analgesic.

Contraction wasn't very strong in the begining, O&G colleague decided to Pitocin her at 3:45pm. Progressing well without pain. At 7pm Os full but the 1st twin (William) station still high (0), with some degree of mal-presentation. Dr. Karen decided to give them another hour if the can descend well with few more strong contraction.

At 8pm, station still high and presenting part still not rotated well. Decesion for LSCS was made and anes colleague came to review and top up the epidural. Pushed to OT at about 8:20pm. I stayed out and waited patiently.

William came out to the world at 8:46pm and Bryan follows at 8:48pm. Luckily we went for LSCS coz Brayn was having cord round neck x2. It would be a problem vaginally delivering 2nd twin with cord round neck tight n in breech position...

William was Apgar 9 at 1 min and 9 at 5 min. He had a patched of port wine stain over his right maxillary area and lil bit of his right upper lids. Other wise, he is active, sucking well and very demanding for milk. Paeds colleague arranged for a MRI scan TRO any associated vascular deformities.

Bryan was Apgar 7 at 1min and 9 at 5min. Bryan doesn't sucks very well thus became hypoglycemic. Was admitted to SCN for forced feeding and close monitoring at day 2 of life. On day 3 of life he was discharged back to mother in the ward and at day 5 of life discharged back home together with the rest of the family.

Currently they r both at home with thier Tina. Feeding well. :)

Well, thanx God that Tina n the boys r all fine till now and the r now in their 38 wks of pregnancy.

She'll b admitted to MH this coming tuesday and tht'll b D-day for our babies. The leading twin is still cephalic n his brother breech. Will try induced of labour on tuesday... Well update again when I become Papa. :)

POG 34 weeks
Well, have been very long time didn't write. They r 34 weeks now. Both turn cephalic & weight 2.4kg. Thank God that they r growing well.

At 23+3/7 they are growing at 23+1/7 and 22+5/7 which I think is resonably well for monozygotic twin. Thank God.

POG 22/52
Haven't been blogging for a long time. Our babies is now POG 22 weeks.

Tina felt the 1st quickening @ POG 16+. Since then the 2 boys been kicking & punching around...

Hmm... they even dance (I think) responsively when Tina sings some kiddo songs to them.

Moves when I kiss them.... But no response when I sing... Wonder y...?

The ultrasound on May 28 showed our twins sons in clear view. Twin 1 is a few days larger than Twin 2. They are perfectly healthy.

I am pregnant for the very first time and with twins! It is a thrilling experience full with joy and fear at the same time. Loon and i are proud to announce and share it with everyone.

My parents are going to be the first time grandparents. Can you imagine their joy when i break the news about the twins. My mom immediately place jossticks for the ancesstors. My sister, Joan, can't stop telling everyone about the good news. My long time no see brother, Chiat, suddenly call up n tell me how excitied he is. The topic of twins has put a sunshine on each one of the family.

ANC (AnteNatal Clinic) in Penang
POA 16W1D. Accompany Tina to her 2nd ANC at Maternity Hospital, Penang.

So let me tell u how's the flow... 8:15am @ the clinic then registered with the staff nurse. 8:30am examined by a JM then waited for routine urine and blood investigation. All of these were done by 9:20am.

The O&G specialist was not in the clinic yet. (I'm not complaining, I know that she has to do moning round in the ward). So we went to canteen for breakfast.

Finally, seen by Dr. K @10:25am. Tina is very happy that her doc is a very friendly lady doctor.

U/S scan shows monozyotic twin. Both twin looks like boy and corresponse to date.

It was 11/5/04, 13+5, arrange an u/s scan for Tina with Dr Yuz.

So.. looking good... the head.. the heartbeat... tummy... spine.. oppss... he/she's moving those tinny limbs...

Wait-da-minute! What's tht??? We saw another head at the other pole! (of coz attatch to body too..) with healthy heartbeats...

So... WOW!!! We have a twin here! (OMG!)

Hmmm... thinking back our family history... do have 2 pairs of twin in the family... but it's paternal side which shoulden count!

Anyway... it's a day of mixed blessing... i mean it's a blessing.. but at the same time.. worrying.

Digested the news well and looking forward for the journey with my twin in their mom's womb. :)
